World Travel - I Don't Want My Pictures Only In Digital Land

On this trip we have been crazy taking pictures. They are my favorite souvenir because they, in digital form, are practically free (at least initially) and they capture a moment in time. Looking at them I can remember silly details like the headband that everyone fought over. I used to have some restraint with the amount of pictures I took when we were using film eons ago, but since going digital I have had no restraint. Let me give you an example, ONE DAY within the last month we took around 500 pictures... no joke... in ONE day. Times that by nearly a year and well that makes... I don't want to do the math... it just makes for a lot of pictures. I knew that would be the case before coming. I don't want to get home only to have the guilt of knowing that tons of beautiful pictures are sitting in digital land hidden away. I made a vow to use an online company at night or down time to make photo books. Lets just say that my vow hasn't been going very well. Only 2 months of photos done :( but better than none I guess.

I have used several photo book companies, but the one I've been using the most is Picaboo. I like them because their program allows for a lot more creative expression (more like paper scrapbooking). Instead of rigid templates and limited background choices, I am only limited by my imagination. They have templates, but I don't have to use them. I really, really like that I can use any of my photos as the background. It makes a nice effect.

If you have loads of pictures in digital land too, check out the web. There are tons of companies you can make photo books with these days. Most even have settings that will put the pictures on to the pages for you (I like to do it myself though). Don't let your beautiful pictures only live in digital land.

Wish me luck in my crazy efforts to get my pictures organized into books! I will need it. I can just imagine telling my kids I finally got it done the day I turn 90. Humm.... maybe the "auto fill" book option is a good one!

By the way, if you are interested in trying Picaboo, at the time of writing this post, they are offering a free photo book for new customers. Enjoy!
